I have been having a bit of a personal tussle over the last few months on how I should carry myself as an artist - both in the world of art and on teh interwebz. Currently, Weebly.com hosts my website (for free) with the option to register my domain name at my leisure. The only stipulation is that I must purchase an upgrade...fairly reasonable and quite typical.
I have had my free (albeit limited) website for just over 6 months and after poring over user reviews on which companies are considered top candidates for website hosting on a budget, Weebly has been, by far, the easiest and most user-friendly website with which to work.
It has come time that bite the bullet and pay for Weebly's services, so I'd really like to solidify a website URL that is easy to remember and kind of encompasses the essence of my style. I have elected two potential titles, one of which I will use to attribute the umbrella under which it all lies. As well, it will be scrawled over the fronts of some business cards I'm 'bout to order. Stoked!
Will Wooten Art is pretty straight forward and, as I'm told, easy to remember - most likely because of the "Woot" portion of my name (no, I am NOT considering "Woot-Woot Art!" as a potential candidate..). It really bears no explanation as to how effective this would be to use. If you know my name, and you know I make art, then you know my website address. It is also how I sign my work.
August Son Studios is a bit more ambiguous and has been more of a device I've used in the last few years to establish myself on the musical side of the spectrum. However, I think it has the potential to house my online operations, kind of like a 'dba' title for an e-shop or some such nonsense. I chose it because it effectively represents who I am as a person; born a son during the final stretch of the laid-back summer in the month of August. The only drawback is, when the words are all lumped together in lower case, August Son looks like the last name Augustson. Bummer.
Now, my query: which title do you think is more effective? Please consider this scenario before voting...and then vote:
